That may be a solution as long as you have a fixed set of property
versions. But you wouldn't be able to add new versions of a property,
since you can't add new items to a row (but you can add new rows).
Imagine the following ``VLArray``::
versions ->
props 0 [p0][v0][v1]
| 1 [p1][v0]
V 2 [p2][v0][v1][v2][v3]
So to say, you are able to grow the array downwards with a new property
and a fixed set of versions, but you can't grow the array sideways with
new versions of an existing property.
