Francesc,

Firstly, thanks for the great work you all are doing with PyTables. I
really appreciate the manuals, website and the easy-to-use API.

What about using these public datasets hosted at Amazon?
http://aws.amazon.com/publicdatasets/

I image that setting up the code to access these datasets is not too
easy, which is why I haven't used them myself just yet, but I plan to
look into it soon. However, these datasets seem to be what you need:
'real' data that are publicly available for demonstrating benchmarks.

Regards,
Kevin

------
Hi,

As you know, I used to show PyTables capabilities by using benchmarks.
However, until now all the data I have been using is synthetic (mainly
random data), and I'd like to start using real data for performing new
experiments and make them public (be in written form or in videos). I
think that would make the benchmarks more realistic and useful for
everybody.

So, if anybody has large datasets (preferrably in tabular form), or know
of any data source that is public, I'd be glad to hear about of it.

Thanks!
