A little closer, I can build a universal that: works in 64-bit mode on with the default python works with a 32-bit only python (EPD or python.org) fails in 32-bit mode with the default python BTW, have you considered using either EPD (http://www.enthought.com/products/getepd.php) or python.org versions? They're both 32-bit, but I find them much easier.
