That certainly seems like a simpler alternative (to me). I have not tried
using ctypes before, but I will try it out.
I noticed that the PyTables installer at the link only is for Python 2.6 and
onwards. I am using Python 2.5.4 for compatibility with some other modules.
I wonder if the lzo2.dll from a python 2.6 installation can be used in a 2.5
environment?
