Don't worry. Keeping compatibility is one of my main goals too. No, I don't think removing the FIELD_N_NAME and FIELD_N_FILL would reduce compatibility as most of libraries out there will use info in the HDF5 type for getting the info kept in FIELD_* attributes (in fact, these should be considered an unnecessary duplication). Hmm, I should report this and ask for their removal in HDF5 upstream. Will keep you informed. -- Francesc Alted ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev _______________________________________________ Pytables-users mailing list Pytables-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/pytables-users
