Hopefully they'll learn. This is been a regular problem for the distutils
package, which is pure Python.

I don't think they'll ever learn, because there is a good reason for putting tkinter in a separate os package: the dependency on tcl/tk. Because of this it is probably save to assume that any GUI package will suffer from this split by (linux) distributors.
