Development-transition only. I want to start doing it now (or next week,
or at some point in the future) without having to think about the actual
transition from py2x->py3k.


Gotcha.

Well, I am sticking my neck out there and saying I am willing to write the
PEP listing what names need to be changed and what modules need to go.  Do
you (or anyone else) want to co-author it with me?
