Though, really, same question! There are functional equivalents (list comprehensions) for "map" and "filter", but not for "reduce". Shouldn't "reduce" stay in the 'built-in' space, while the other two move to "functools"? Or move them all to "functools"? Bizarre recombination, IMO.
