Methinks that from this evidence it is clear that on 05/09/2008 at 05:07 PM you used 2to3 with Python alpha 4. The pickle is left behind as an optimization by 2to3's own parser. It will be ignored when you use it with a different Python version. It is correct that Grammar.txt hasn't changed since April -- this is expected (the grammar changes only when the grammar of the input language changes, and we haven't changed that in a long time).
