Initial Comment:
It seems that the IDNA StreamReader is broken (this
problem occurs both in Python 2.3.4 and Python 2.4):
>>> import codecs, cStringIO
>>> r =
codecs.getreader("idna")(cStringIO.StringIO("abc"))
>>> r.read(1)
u'a'
>>> r.read(1)
u'b'
>>> r.read(1)
u'c'
>>> r.read(1)
u'.'
>>> r.read(1)
u'.'
I would have expected that read(1) returns u"" after
the third call.
