For trailers to work, I think the line:
self.assertEqual(data, "abcde12345")
should be:
self.assertEqual(data, b"abcde12345")
Also not that tests like this:
if not sys.platform.startswith('linux'):
perhaps should also include solaris since it doesn't support headers/trailers
either.
