Eric Smith <e...@trueblade.com> added the comment: It would be redundant, so we don't need both. I don't recall any discussion when PEP 3101 was developed as to choosing 'd' over 'i'. In all of the C code I've seen use printf, I don't think I've ever seen 'i' used.
