Éric Araujo <[email protected]> added the comment: There is a already a test for manifest things in Lib/distutils/tests/test_msvc9compiler.py, and higher-level tests for building extension modules in Lib/distutils/tests/test_build_ext.py and Lib/distutils/tests/test_install.py.
