The fix for this issue broke support for bytes in shutil.rmtree:
$ mkdir -p /tmp/a/b
$ python3.2 -c 'import shutil; shutil.rmtree(b"/tmp/a")'
$ mkdir -p /tmp/a/b
$ python3.3 -c 'import shutil; shutil.rmtree(b"/tmp/a")'
