Ben Hoyt added the comment: Actually, I was suggesting using the hardcoded types for Windows only (i.e., only removing read_windows_registry). Several bugs have been opened on problems with the Windows registry mimetypes, but as far as I know this isn't an issue on Linux -- in other words, if Linux/other systems ain't broke, no need to fix them.
