STINNER Victor added the comment: The bug tracker is not the best place to discuss adding new features to the standard library. It's better to discuss them first on the python-ideas mailing list. You should also give an use case, explain why do you consider that Python needs this feature, etc. For example, I don't need such functionn and why not converting filenames to lowercase?
