Serhiy Storchaka added the comment: Martin, could you please review this patch? This bug affects not only IDLE, but any Tkinter application which uses callbacks with arguments. Encoding/decoding error during converting arguments from Tcl to Python causes immediate finishing Tcl main loop (and normally closing an application).
