Amaury Forgeot d'Arc <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> added the comment: Marc-Andre: don't all your objections also apply to the 8bit string type, which is already a variable-size structure? Is extending unicode more common than extending str?
With python 3.0, all strings are unicode. Shouldn't this type be optimized for the same use cases of the previous str type? ---------- nosy: +amaury.forgeotdarc __________________________________ Tracker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <http://bugs.python.org/issue1943> __________________________________ _______________________________________________ Python-bugs-list mailing list Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-bugs-list/archive%40mail-archive.com
