Steve Dower added the comment: It's not supported for building Python, is what I meant. I don't know what the status is for Microsoft support of VS2012, but I'd expect it's security fix only by now.
Being able to support building Python with alternative compilers is a task that we don't have the volunteers to support, especially on Windows.
