Raymond Hettinger added the comment: I think you should take this up on python-ideas and don't expect it to gain any traction here. For best results, the proposal should be accompanied by valid use cases that can't easily be handled in some other way. The bar for adding a new builtin function is somewhat high so there would need to be good reasons.
