Alexander Belopolsky added the comment: Python 2 line is closed for new features, but you can start with the main line Lib/datetime.py which will probably work with python 2.7.9 after some minor tweaks. You should be able to publish the result on PyPI. Note that many new in 3.x modules are provided for 2.x this way.
