Shlomi Fish added the comment: I'm attaching here the reduced, minimal, inputrc. I think it's a bug in Python because it doesn't happen with any other program that uses readline (bash, perl -d, etc.) that I checked. I'll check with a vanilla readline compiled from source from the GNU site , though.
