John Hagen added the comment: @Ethan/Barry what needs to be done now to accept or reject this for Python 3.6? Should I propose it onto python-dev? If accepted, would be nice to get it in before alpha 3 (~2 weeks). What's nice about this proposal is Ethan has already written the code, so it's just a matter of getting consensus to add it.
