Nick Coghlan added the comment: `TextIOWrapper.reconfigure()` has been added for 3.7 as part of issue 30526 (currently covering the `line_buffering` and `write_through` options), so I've updated the issue title here to reflect that that's now the relevant API to use to address this particular RFE.
