R. David Murray added the comment: Can you figure out what the input to feedparser is in those cases? If pip or whatever is feeding in a None object, then that's not a bug in feedparser. However, if the input is a string (or bytes via the bytes interface) and this is heppening, then there's probably something wrong, but we'll need to see the actual input to determine what.
