David Murray <rdmur...@bitdance.com> added the comment: Thank you for wanting to improve Python, but unless this is actually causing a problem for someone, there is a greater chance of introducing a bug by making such changes than the benefit of the "cleanup". So we generally don't accept such patches. If we modify the code for other reasons (ie: we might already be introducing new bugs), then we make such changes.
