@jdemeyer, you didn't submit a patch, or give any hint that you _might_. It _looked_ like you wanted other people to do all the work, based on a contrived example and a vague suggestion. And we already knew from history that "a simple Bernstein hash suffices" is false for tuple hashing (for one possible meaning of "a simple Bernstein hash" - we had one of those 14 years ago). Neither Raymond nor I want to spend time on this ourselves, so in the absence of somebody else volunteering to do the work, there's no reason to keep the report open uselessly.
