Tarek Ziadé <ziade.ta...@gmail.com> added the comment: As a developer I prefer .tar.gz, but I don't have a strong opinion on picking zip or tar, I think tar is fine as long as all installers out there (easy_install, pip, etc) are working with the archives on every platform too.
