[3.12] gh-116510: Fix a crash due to shared immortal interned strings. (gh-124541) Fix a crash caused by immortal interned strings being shared between sub-interpreters that use basic single-phase init. In that case, the string can be used by an interpreter that outlives the interpreter that created and interned it. For interpreters that share obmalloc state, also share the interned dict with the main interpreter. files: A Misc/NEWS.d/next/Core_and_Builtins/2024-09-25-12-37-58.gh-issue-116510.WeBAx1.rst M Objects/unicodeobject.c diff --git a/Misc/NEWS.d/next/Core_and_Builtins/2024-09-25-12-37-58.gh-issue-116510.WeBAx1.rst b/Misc/NEWS.d/next/Core_and_Builtins/2024-09-25-12-37-58.gh-issue-116510.WeBAx1.rst new file mode 100644 index 00000000000000..e1e0408f548498 --- /dev/null +++ b/Misc/NEWS.d/next/Core_and_Builtins/2024-09-25-12-37-58.gh-issue-116510.WeBAx1.rst @@ -0,0 +1,5 @@ +Fix a crash caused by immortal interned strings being shared between +sub-interpreters that use basic single-phase init.
