Where's the PEP? You don't expect me to argue the point for the numpy community do you? Once there's a PEP I'll read it and comment. Last I saw this thread Travis was asking for volunteers to write the PEP. Personally I think this is too close to the Python 2.5 release schedule to go ahead; but that's really up to the release managers.
