Mailman switch to Bazaar on June 22. The transition went pretty smoothly (the hardest part of the process was shutting off write access to Subversion ;). I know some of us were talking about it at Pycon, but I've now been using it for 4 or 5 more months. It's really a top-notch dvcs and I think it would bring a lot of benefit to the Python community. I'll see if I can set up some public bzr mirrors of our svn repository for people to try it out. Or you could just use the bzr- svn plugin to get a local repository. There are lots of key benefits to using a dvcs, but IMO the most important is that it helps democratize the development process, and makes it much easier for the core to review and accept contributions. diffs are so 20th century. :) - -Barry -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (Darwin) iQCVAwUBRpeZYnEjvBPtnXfVAQL0ugQArei77bNsmv1hdrfs6RGinNiBdhNvSet8 vprjc3JgdV0iBltSX2KvHj+xOEd49ImDtKSws1uQNDLzIGMzv65/P03d3udwd2fy VrzBrO9Nlw+YdWtfJEcwCmRGT7Zj4HNUhYxQUB/V/3dytjLZoCp3m5xYAbfj44be FThPPbnCeDI= =CuEJ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Python-Dev mailing list Python-Dev@python.org http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-dev Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-dev/archive%40mail-archive.com
