You're not wrong at all. I have to deal with *all* the platforms and use cases, which makes it quite frustrating when people who haven't even read the requirements are making proposals to "solve" things in ways that break for everyone except their own niche platform+usecase combination. Guido, can I borrow the time machine and go back and NOT try to improve on the distutils?
