Beautifully put :)

And a package based solution that satisfies everyone (or even a
significant majority), be they on Windows, OS X, .deb based Linux, .rpm
based Linux, some other Linux or *nix, be they a mere user or the
machine admin... I think that's a problem that still has a lot of
development work in front of it ;)
