It's marked for backport to 2.6 as "needs review":

It fixes a BusError crash that was just swiped under a rug by disabling the build in setup.py. :-)

I'm disinclined to approve this for 2.6.4 since it is not a regression in 2.6.3. It seems fine to me for 2.6.5 though.
