I've never even contemplated the idea of installing 3rd party apps for
the 4 current development builds (2.x trunk, 2.x maintenance, 3.x trunk,
3.x maintenance) on my home development machine.

And of course work suffers from the problem of not being allowed to
install arbitrary apps I downloaded from the internet without getting
the licensing vetted for commercial acceptability.
