I'm happy to answer direct questions about the transition process I have in mind (and mostly written down in the PEP), or the resulting hg repository. I think the PEP has some details about what I think constitutes a good conversion. If there are things that Fred or Steve miss from that discussion, I'd be happy to add to the PEP.
