I think both "derived" and "distinguished" are OK, but I am more in favour of "distinguished". The reason is sometimes people might talk about derived types while meaning normal derived classes. Also, indeed "distinguished" is a rare word, so that it will not cause confusions and easy to look up. -- Ivan
