One useful thing this group might do is compile answers to GIS and
Python FAQs. If you have that kind of question, fire away in a new

I think that apart from FAQs, it would be nice to have "recipes", some
sort of cookbook, with practical examples (and hopefully, related
datasets and code). I keep some of my notes online (see <http://
sites.google.com/site/spatialpython/>), but would be happy to
contribute them to some other effort. Does this make any sense?

Unfortunately, a Google Group doesn't have decent tools for making a
cookbook. And I didn't start this group to compete with the GDAL/OGR
site as *the* place to document gdal.py and ogr.py.
Let's say "Is there a Python GIS cookbook?" is a frequently asked
question: the answer could simply be "There are several", and we point
to your work and to Chris's, and to others as they arise.
Interested in helping to compile the FAQ?
