That's largely because I am having extreme difficulty pinning down what the other ideas are, whether they are even alternates to what I'm proposing, whether I'm wrong for even thinking that the post was about default argument expressions, and I don't even know what else. You're right, this thread is bogged down. I'm abandoning it for the time being. Maybe some day in the future, it'll be worth reopening this discussion. For now, I don't think we're getting anywhere.
