Basic sys functions brought out the \ separator for paths.
What am I missing here? Looks OK to me.

>>> abc
'xyz\\\\'
>>> print abc
xyz\\
>>> abc.replace(r'\',r'z')
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
>>> abc
'xyz\\\\'
