IBM had an effective monopoly once, and they acted like Microsoft, although even they never had the gall to just ignore the court's rulings as Microsoft has done, and continues to do. Twenty years ago, Microsoft were the knights in shining armour going to save Apple Macintosh from the Big Blue evil empire.
