typo here:
aptbase.drawables = weakref.WeakValueDictionary()

The keys you are choosing are probably not a good idea.
Problem demo:
a,b,c = Something(), Something(), Something()
b = None
d = Something() # overwrites the d entry.
I'd use:
aptbase.drawables[id(self)] = self
