Package: python-mysqldb
Version: 1.2.2-6
Severity: minor

Hi,

Back in February there was a discussion on debian-devel about descriptions
of some packages that include lists which shouldn't be reformatted.
It's at:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2008/02/msg00695.html

If you look at your package description on:
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/python-mysqldb
then you can see the problem.

The list in the description gets reformatted.

You can prevent this by starting a line in the Description field with two
spaces as per:
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-controlfields.html#s-f-Description

The lines in your package that could be fixed are:
+ Thread-friendliness (threads will not block each other)
+ Compatibility with MySQL-3.23 and later
Alternatively you can just use one space but separate each item with a
blank line.

Thanks

 .
         # Here is another sad story about bad transactional behavior. MySQL
         # offers a feature to automatically reconnect dropped connections.
         # What sounds like a dream, is actually a nightmare for anyone who
         # is dealing with transactions. When a reconnection happens, the
         # currently running transaction is transparently rolled back, and
         # everything that was being done is lost, without notice. Not only
         # that, but the connection may be put back in AUTOCOMMIT mode, even
         # when that's not the default MySQLdb behavior. The MySQL developers
         # quickly understood that this is a terrible idea, and removed the
         # behavior in MySQL 5.0.3. Unfortunately, Debian and Ubuntu still
         # have a patch right now which *reenables* that behavior by default
         # even past version 5.0.3.
