Sorry about the lack of response and the brusqeness of my original report, but I didn't see a copy of your request for info for some reason.
The problem was mainly lack of documentation I think. The entries member isn't mentioned in the pydoc strings, and what help there is is very vague. Now I've realised it's a pure python module I've been able to check the source and see what inputs it expects as well as find the entries member.
