Looking at /usr/share/doc/python-qt4-doc/examples/README, no exact command to run the examples is given, but the hint about examples/demos/qtdemo led me to launch: /usr/share/doc/python-qt4-doc/examples/demos/qtdemo/qtdemo.py and from there, select "Qt declarative examples" and "Corkboards". Still happens on today's wheezy.
