Package: python-geopy Version: 0.94.2-1 Severity: important hi folks
while playing with the Qgis geocoding plugins I discover that Google geocoding service is not more working since March due to a protocol upgrade. While V2 should still work, in practice it is not longer the case and the V3 implementation provided by 0.95 is required. That in practice also triggers a change in the Qgis plugin (in order to use the new GoogleV3() call). More information: https://github.com/geopy/geopy/blob/master/docs/google_v3_upgrade.md IMHO at least a proposed upgrade in wheezy could be considered for this package. On the DebianGis and Qgis side: the named geocoding plugin requires an update ASAP. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.9-1-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages python-geopy depends on: ii python 2.7.3-5 ii python-beautifulsoup 3.2.1-1 ii python2.6 2.6.8-2 ii python2.7 2.7.5-5 python-geopy recommends no packages. python-geopy suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- Francesco P.
