Effective Vendor Management Standard Requirements
Crucial Requirements:
- Do we Make sure to ask about our vendor's customer satisfaction rating and references in our particular industry. If the vendor does not know its own rating, it may be a red flag that you're dealing with a company that does not put Customer Service at the forefront. How would a company know what to improve if it had no idea what areas customers felt were lacking?
- Has management considered from external parties (e.g., customers, vendors and others doing business with the entity, external auditors, and regulators) important information on the functioning of an entitys enterprise Risk Management?
- A significant amount of data will be regularly received by the vendor (from nih, cms, and other government and non-government entities). is this data de-identified according to hipaa privacy standards as a matter of course?
- How many training hours are included within the standard support and maintenance agreement and how is that training delivered (e.g., at the vendors location, onsite at the customers location, via the web)?
- Worth what paid for (wwpf): the quantitative evaluation by a person in your customer segment of the question: considering the products and services that we offer, are they worth what clients pay for them?
- Do you look for vendors whose solutions are designed to facilitate your IWMS objectives. Do their solutions promote efficiencies, reduce costs, mitigate compliance-related risks and speed time to market?
- Have we thought of cost, functionality,vendor support, vendor viability, quality of documentation, ease of learning, ease of use, ease of installation, response time, throughput, version?
- Question to cloud provider: Do you offer single-sign-on for access across multiple applications you offer, or trusted federated single-sign-on across applications with other vendors?
- Can you name any software product that has a tuning process (when one part changes or has new components added or a different vendor adds something to it, all parts are evaluated)?
