I've not had direct experience with it myself however I can recommend Michael Foord's "What's new in unittest" talk I attended at Europython which covers a lot of ground (Michael Foord wrote the updates to the unittest module) and Michael Sparks (who can't be thanked enough) organised a video recording of the talk. You might like to look at an article written by Michael Foord on the new stuff in unittest which you can find at http://www.voidspace.org.uk/python/articles/unittest2.shtml.
