Hi all, Though not Python related, this should be of interest to some of you Pythonistas.
I'll be delivering a talk on the Clojure programming language at the Manchester madlab on the 8th November at 7pm: http://madlab.org.uk/content/clojure/ If you're a python zen master, then you know the value of having a language with good idioms. Like Python with Clojure it is often easy to see what the most idiomatic way of doing something is. It also has a minimal syntax, and is every bit as pragmatic in its approach. The language jells together cohesively, without getting in your way. Unlike Python, it has incredible support for in process concurrency, allowing you to get all those cores working for you! Rich Hickey, Clojure's inventor shares Guido's spidy-sense and is renowned world-wide for the wise choices he makes with Clojure's design. This is the first step towards starting a regular Clojure Dojo ( http://clojuredojo.com/ ) in and around Manchester. Please come along and join in as we put the fun in functional! If you have any questions concerning Clojure, the madlab event, or Clojure Dojo's in general, feel free to contact me (on or off list).
