Hi all, I joined Python North-West for the first time yesterday evening and just wanted to say hello again on the list. I really enjoyed meeting a few Python enthusiasts and getting hands-on with Scraperwiki, even though the DWD web server gave our team a particularly difficult challenge with its invalid HTML responses that we couldn't fix in time ;)
I moved to Manchster from Vienna/Austria a few weeks ago with my wife Patrizia, and I am working as a Freelancer, mostly implementing web applications using Django (which is how I came to Python from a Java/C+ + background) with a few projects in the making for clients back in Austria and looking for opportunities around here. I'd really like to be able to tackle increasingly sophisticated problems in Python, which I learned to love after initial skepticism (who didn't have to overcome a day of doubts about significant whitespace), and I am currently trying to get my head around more advanced topics like generators and metaclasses (which I am struggling to find demand for in my daily work so I'd especially enjoy a coding session dedicated to these topics some time). So, I am looking forward to meeting you again and discussing stuff like this with like-minded individuals. All the best, Flo http://floledermann.com/ <- slightly outdated P.S. Anyone interested in going to WhereCamp in Nottingham this weekend? As I have some background in web-based GIS, I'll probably be there. -- To post: [email protected] To unsubscribe: [email protected] Feeds: http://groups.google.com/group/python-north-west/feeds More options: http://groups.google.com/group/python-north-west
